Avnet Technology Solutions (NYSE: AVT) and Amazon Web Services (NASDAQ: AMZN) are set to partner, Talkin’ Cloud reported. The Avnet-Amazon relationship is particularly intriguing for MSPs that offer managed storage and managed database services. Here’s why.

Initially, the Avnet-Amazon partnership will empower VARs and MSPs that want to offered custom-built cloud solutions involving Oracle‘s database, plus cloud gateway storage services. A healthy number of MSPmentor 100 companies already promote on-premises managed database services and managed storage services. Many of those MSPs are now exploring related cloud services.

In response, Avnet and Amazon say they developed custom packaged solutions for Avnet’s channel partners. The solutions push beyond basic SaaS reselling relationships, Avnet stated.
