CloudBees is promoting Kohsuke Kawaguchi to the position of CTO, a new role within the company.
Platform as a service provider (PaaS) provider CloudBees is promoting Kohsuke Kawaguchi to the position of chief technology officer (CTO), a new position in the company’s four-year history.
Kawaguchi, founder and current lead developer of the Jenkins continuous integration (CI) open source community, will be responsible for leading the company’s technology strategy. He will report to CEO Sacha Labourey and Senior Vice President of Products Steven G. Harris.
CloudBees founder and CEO Sacha Labourey said in a statement that Kawaguchi will continue to guide development of the CloudBees platform in his new role.
“Time to market is becoming an increasingly important business driver for our customers,” Labourey said. “We look forward to leveraging Kohsuke’s expertise to extend and develop our platform and strategy to meet the continuous delivery needs of enterprises.”
“I am honored by the promotion to chief technology officer,” Kawaguchi said in a prepared statement. “It is exciting to continue on with the extensive work we have already started to make continuous delivery – whether on-premise or in the cloud – a reality for enterprises.”
Kawaguchi has been developer and architect for CloudBees since 2010. He also worked with Sun Microsystems and Oracle, where he collaborated on a variety of projects and initiated the open source work that led to Jenkins.
One of the company’s latest moves was its integration with Amazon Web Services Elastic Beanstalk.
