Web and mail security provider GFI Software will acquire VizualMobile Ltd‘s cloud-based multi-platform mobile device management (MDM) solution. The companies announced the deal yesterday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

GFI will continue to develop VizualMobile’s technology and will integrate it into two of its major product platforms: GFI MAX RemoteManagement for managed service providers (MSPs), and GFI Cloud, which is a web-based platform for IT administrators in small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The technology supports Android, iOS, and Blackberry devices, although GFI has not yet announced support for iOS 6.

GFI Software General Manager of the GFI MAX Business Unit Alistair Forbes said GFI continues to search for new technologies that will “help us solve our customers’ problems and enhance our products.” The company is adding  about 150 new MSPs per month, according to GFI Software CEO Walter Scott.

VizualMobile provides smartphone device management solutions via cloud technology. According to the company, this acquisition will enable VizualMobile to reach a larger range of customers and achieve higher success in the market.

The new technology is expected to be available in GFI MAX later this year and in GFI Cloud in 2013.
