HPE Intros GreenLake Hybrid Cloud

HPE DISCOVER — Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) on Tuesday introduced HPE GreenLake Hybrid Cloud for the management and optimization of on-premises and off-premises cloud. It was announced at HPE Discover in Las Vegas.

HPE says GreenLake Hybrid Cloud provides comprehensive cloud-management service for the automation of cloud operations, performance optimization, cost controls, and security and compliance, for example.

The new HPE GreenLake offer is a turnkey, managed service built on the company’s best practices to deploy public and on-premises clouds. It enables hybrid IT by design and puts the customer in control of what their business needs. HPE GreenLake Hybrid Cloud manages all the relevant workloads, using modern automation and remote services, and eliminates the need for new skilled staff to oversee and manage cloud implementations, the company said.

“Enterprises need a fast and simple way to optimize their public and on-premises clouds to enable applications and data under a common operating model,” said Ana Pinczuk, senior vice president and general manager of HPE Pointnext, the vendor’s IT services organization. “HPE GreenLake Hybrid Cloud is a breakthrough solution that removes the complexity of operating multiple clouds and enables customers to maintain control, reduce costs and accelerate time to value.”

The HPE GreenLake portfolio was introduced as a suite of pay-per-use solutions last November. At the time, HPE introduced GreenLake as outcome-based IT consumption and a paradigm shift in how businesses consume IT resources. HPE GreenLake leverages HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity, that boasts IT as a service for their organizations. The service, from HPE Pointnext, allows users to consume their type of infrastructure.

The HPE GreenLake portfolio includes: HPE GreenLake Edge Compute, HPE GreenLake Backup, HPE GreenLake for SAP HANA, HPE GreenLake Database with EDB Postgres, and HPE GreenLake Big Data.

HPE offers partner events to learn about use cases, vertical markets, consumption IT, standard GreenLake packages, and how partners can sell GreenLake to their customers. The vendor also is educating partners about work with HPE Pointnext.
