Paragon Software, which has a penchant for serving the SMB, is now offering up a brand new way to move from server to server, both physical and virtual. It’s called Paragon Migration Suite for Servers (MSS) and it’s aimed at the SMB in both feature set and price tag. Read on for the full feature list of MSS and some channel perspective on MSS’ use.

MSS has been designed to be a robust and fully featured migration program that covers a swath of use cases and migration tasks. Pain-free is Paragon’s priority with MSS. Highlights include the ability to migrate from a cloned copy of a hard drive to a completely new virtual or physical server drive. MSS also does away with compatibility problems between versions of Windows, since Paragon has created the Driver Injector with a special algorithm to deal with different hardware configurations. If you’re concerned about performance issues after a migration, MSS will also adjust a partition location to ensure the best performance when shuffling images around. MSS supports migrations to VMware, Oracle and Microsoft virtualization environments.

At a time when most migration is about moving to the cloud, MSS sounds like it caries potential for companies looking to move to their own private cloud or virtualized data center. MSS starts at a cool $199, and a free demo is available. In addition, Paragon has packaged MSS to be reseller-ready, and MSPs may even be able to re-purpose the tool for their own needs. If this software sounds like exactly what you were looking for, check the full list of MSS features here.
