Lenovo Unveils Slim, Trim IdeaCentre A720 All-in-One
May 22, 2012
Thin is always in, especially when it comes to all-in-one (AIO) computing, and Lenovo’s IdeaCentre A720 is no exception — the company is billing it as the world’s slimmest AIO, with a hinged screen that enables users to lay the display completely flat.
The highlight here is a 27-inch razor-thin high-definition, wide-screen display with 10-point multitouch, and a hinge for expansive use and viewing from angles varying from -5 degres to 90 degrees. The flexibility allows users to access applications and programs in an upright, angled or completely flat position.
The IdeaCentre A720 measures less than an inch at its thinnest point and the touchscreen display is frameless, maximizing display space. The PC component is positioned at the base on the unit, while the adjustable hinge allows the screen to be pulled toward the user and folded back.
Powered by Intel Core Series processors and Nvidia GeForce graphics with up to 1TB hard drive and 64 GB solid state disk storage, the AIO also boasts Dolby Home Theatre V4 audio, a Lenovo High-Sense (720p HD) webcam and IdeaTouch, a suite of touch-optimized applications and games.
First announced at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in January, the A720 desktop is now available in premium configurations starting at $1,849 via the company’s website. Additional configurations are slated to be available starting in June.
At the company’s recent Accelerate 2012 conference, Lenovo hammered home a message of small-business focus and unveiled a range of business-friendly ThinkPads and Ultrabooks. With the A720, Lenovo now has a real head-turner on its hands.
