Lightpath Releases Video Conferencing Managed Service
IT staff do not have to deal with procuring, installing or maintaining gear.
June 30, 2014
Lightpath on Monday said it has added video conferencing to its managed services portfolio.
The new service is delivered over Lightpath’s fiber network and connects up to 25 people worldwide from almost any device. The product set includes system design and installation; virtual meeting room services that support new or existing equipment; around-the-clock help desk; and optional proactive monitoring. Other features include:
Multiple levels of connectivity. This ranges from audio-only dial-in to standard H.323/SIP video conferencing rooms, and desktop and mobile conferencing clients.
Security. Meetings remain private and secure within the Lightpath cloud because the service uses H.235-based encryption for H.323 endpoints, and SRTP and TLS encryption for SIP endpoints.
Room monitoring. Lightpath conducts automated, passive, active and proactive monitoring for managed room system codecs, alerting the service desk when devices are not responding or performing sufficiently.
Further, the service is fully managed, which means IT staff do not have to deal with procuring, installing or maintaining gear.
Lightpath, a New York-based service provider, sells through the indirect channel.
