TD Synnex will address enhancements to enablement for resellers during Beyond Security, said TD Synnex’s Jessica McDowell.
“We’ll be talking a lot about financing, creative financing opportunities and how to navigate today’s economic climate, and where you can plug in creative financing opportunities,” she said. “And then our vendors may have some announcements as well, but we’ll just have to see what they say when they get up on the main stage.”
The evolving threat landscape will also be a top issue addressed during Beyond Security.
“We’ll be talking about some of the most prevalent cybersecurity issues that we’re seeing in the market, such as phishing and ransomware,” McDowell said. “We’ll be touching on artificial intelligence (AI) and where that falls from a cybersecurity standpoint, from an opportunity standpoint as well as a risk standpoint. So there will be a lot of discussion around which cybersecurity trends partners really need to double down and focus on, and then how they go to their customers and help outfit them to solve for those threats.”
TD Synnex’s security strategy is to provide an end-to-end solution, McDowell said.
“Our our strategy is to monitor threats, monitor trends in the marketplace and always try to stay five steps ahead of what the market is doing,” she said. “So from a strategy standpoint, that’s where we plug in and then everything is built on that. Everything behind it is enablement, empowerment, education and tools to provide our partners with the ability to actually act on what’s happening in the market.”
The threat landscape evolves daily, so to stay ahead, TD Synnex has an entire team charged with monitoring the market, trends and threat landscape to ensure “we’ve got the right tools in place to support our partners,” McDowell said.
In the past year, TD Synnex‘s growth in cybersecurity has been bigger than in many other aspects of the industry, McDowell said.
“So we’ve been able to maintain and beat market growth,” she said. “We had a busy year not only with our large tier-one vendors, but also our other vendors. And we onboarded a lot of new and emerging vendors into our ecosystem as well. So we had a very busy, active and exciting year over the last 12 months.”
Demand for cybersecurity is staying strong, McDowell said.
“And additionally, we’ve onboarded quite a few new vendors into our ecosystem that have a very good channel play as well,” she said. “So that’s been a big driver of growth for us. We’ve increased our footprint in terms of the number of partners that are selling security solutions. So there’s a lot of organic growth in that as well, just enabling our partners.”
There was a time when partners could focus on technologies other than cybersecurity, but those days are over, McDowell said.
“For the past five years, we’ve been talking about, ‘Hey, you need to get into the security game if you’re not already,'” she said. “And I think now we’re really seeing that come to fruition. We’ve got a lot of new security partners that we’re working with, but we also have a lot of very established security partners that are saying, ‘Hey, I need to expand my line card; tell me what I’m missing.’ And we’re able to go in and do a lot of that line-card analysis for our partners. So we’re really spanning the spectrum in terms of growing our partner base and enabling the existing partner base.”
Now more than ever, TD Synnex has the capabilities to help partners get started and grow in cybersecurity, McDowell said.
“We’ve really enhanced our enablement tools and our enablement platform,” she said. “We’ve got a rebranded, relaunched enablement platform that has many courses on it that are industry-agnostic or vendor-agnostic, not just vendor-specific. Also from a total cloud platform standpoint, we’re continuing to expand our capabilities there. And we’ve got more security vendors that are present on our platforms from a cloud perspective as well. So on top of all of that, bringing new vendors into our ecosystem gives us more opportunities to partner and to meet in the channel motions, and really provide a fully comprehensive solution offering out to the partner community.”
When it comes to what partners can take with them and make use of from Beyond Security, it’s “tools, tools, tools,” McDowell said.
“It’s tools that leverage techniques to augment your abilities from a services standpoint, a learning standpoint, an education standpoint and a financing standpoint,” she said. “We want our partners to walk away learning something new that we can offer them and how we can really augment their ability to sell.”
Beyond Security is TD Synnex‘s “big opportunity to showcase everything that we can do on a broader scale,” McDowell said.
“So what we love about Beyond Security is it … falls in the middle of the year, and then we have these roadshows that take forward the message from Beyond Security and carry it throughout the year,” she said.

“And really the takeaway for the resellers is their ability to come into the conference and choose their agenda based on their needs,” she said. “It’s a fully adaptable agenda based on where they are in their security journey. And we want them to walk away with the tools that they need to expand or maybe even start their security practice from a reseller perspective.”
TD Synnex Beyond Security for a Range of Partners
Resellers are coming to TD Synnex Beyond Security with lots of questions and needing help with the next step in their cybersecurity sales journey, McDowell said.
“It’s really all about enablement,” she said. “There are those partners that are saying, ‘Hey, I’m just getting started selling security; I know I need to get skilled up. Where do I start? How do I put pen to paper here?’ All the way to the resellers that are very established in the security marketplace. We really work with them on creative financing opportunities. How do you upsell and cross-sell? Where do they have gaps in their line card and their portfolio? So enablement is really the name of the game for us.”
