Hosted communications provider DSCI, which focuses on customers in the northeastern United States, has acquired Unified Technologies.
Unified Technologies provides managed IT and hosted VoIP services; it was founded in 2002 and is headquartered in Portland, Maine.
“Rather than enter Portland on our own, we decided to seek out a well-established local business with deep roots in the community,” said Sean Dandley, president and CEO of DSCI. “By working together, we can pursue new opportunities and reach new levels of success.”
Now, as part of the transaction, DSCI will migrate Unified Technologies’ hosted VoIP users to the DSCI network, and integrate the Maine firm’s managed UC services into its portfolio.
Also, Todd Wolf, principal of Unified Technologies, is spinning off a new company – Wolf Technology Group – that will immediately become a master sales agent for DSCI. Wolf Technology Group also will provide consulting, structured cabling, site surveys, field installation, Wi-Fi networks and IP video surveillance systems.
Customers of Unified Technologies will get the same services they receive now, either from DSCI or from Wolf Technology Group. Those clients further can add DSCI’s services to their purchases.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, as both companies are privately held.
The Unified Technologies deal comes on the heels of DSCI’s expansion into New York City.
