Advantage Communications Group LLC has named Mike Saxby as its vice president of business development.

Saxby comes from master agency Communications Management Services (CMS), where he served as president. Before that, he worked as chief strategy officer at Telecom Brokerage Inc. and, prior to that, was group publisher of Virgo Publishing, now Informa Exhibitions.

Now, at Advantage, Saxby will oversee strategic partnerships, market strategies and channel sales. He also will hold the same responsibilities as vice president at Cellular Optimization LLC, Advantage’s sister company.

In fact, Saxby’s hiring comes as part of a strategic partnership among Advantage, Cellular Optimization and CMS. The deal calls for CMS to use the Cellular Optimization managed mobility service, while Cellular Optimization will use CMS for wireless carrier activations.

“I am very excited to have Mike aboard,” said David Gardner, president of Advantage and Cellular Optimization. “I’ve known him for many years and always respected his business acumen, talent developing relationships and overall professionalism. He brings a terrific skill set to our company and we’ve already seen an impact.”
