Master agent Avant, which now dubs itself as a “platform for IT decision-making for next-generation technologies,” just hired Jaime Matoba as its new senior director of business development.

Avant’s Jaime Matoba

Matoba comes to Avant after six years at Nice InContact, where she most recently served as director of strategic partnerships. At Avant, she will lead the company’s business development and “vendor ecosystem” initiatives. She brings 15 years of what Avant says is in-depth channel and direct sales experience, poised to build on Avant’s IT platforms that include the Pathfinder app – a face-to-face tool to help partners introduce next-gen solutions in cloud, colocation and telecommunications to enterprise customers – the company’s research and analytics offerings; and its engineering team. She will help partners by developing programs designed to maximize vendor engagement in client opportunities.

“People and culture are everything at Avant, and Jaime exceeds our high standard on all counts,” said Ian Kieninger, the company’s CEO and co-founder. “We can’t wait to add her deep channel and contact center expertise to the amazing team and culture we are blessed with here at Avant.”

Here’s our list of channel people on the move in January.

Avant says Matoba built a solid résumé at Nice InContact, where she was instrumental in helping the company evolve from its early days in the channel to the successful contact-center solution provider that it is today.

“As Avant continues to grow and innovate, I am excited to join the company and help accelerate the momentum at a pivotal point of growth in our industry,” said Matoba. “After 15 years in sales and supporting the growth of the channel, I am excited to be at the center of the industry with Avant and to continue to expand the Avant ecosystem.”

It’s been a busy winter for Avant on many fronts. The company participated in the inaugural Channel Evolution Europe in London the first week of December, and followed that up last month by signing Cybraics, a cybersecurity and analytics firm, to its lineup of providers whose products and services partners can sell.
