Integra Telecom Inc. said Friday it completed its $566 million purchase of Eschelon Telecom Inc.

Eschelon is now a wholly owned company of Integra, which paid $30 per share for the company. The deal was announced in March.

Integra said the combined company is one of the largest CLECs in the country and would have combined revenue of $700 million this year.

Integra is based in Portland, Ore., and serves business throughout the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West. Eschelon was headquartered in Minneapolis, which will remain a regional center.

Integra and Eschelon get more than 80 percent of their revenue from overlapping service areas, Integra said. Much of Eschelons traffic, which was previously routed over leased facilities from other carriers, will now be routed over Integras metropolitan area and intercity fiber networks.
