Phonetag Launches Hosted VoIP via Level 3
December 19, 2005
Phonetag LLC has introduced hosted VoIP software that adds a new line to a company or ports existing phone numbers so businesses experience minimal disruption if there is a phone system outage.
Using Level 3 Communications Inc. as its underlying provider, Phonetags service works with existing infrastructure and bandwidth.
Even the most expensive, elaborate telecommunications infrastructure is susceptible to outages caused by any number of events grid failures, fires, flooding, storms, etc. that leave businesses at the mercy of the telephone company, said Rob Cash, CEO of Phonetag. Phonetag eliminates the potential for disruptions and puts control over the phone system where it belongs: in the hands of the business.
Companies signing up for Phonetag usually get their new phone numbers within 48 hours. The primary Phonetag number costs $99.95 per month, which includes an auto attendant, call history, view contacts and click-to-call, all via a small toolbar that integrates with Microsoft Outlook. Additional lines cost $19.95 or $34.95 each, depending on the features. Other standard features include Web-enabled call control and routing; local number portability; free on-net calling; voice mail; call forwarding; E911; and remote office.
Phonetag can also provide an immediate corporate presence because an active phone number is available within 48 hours, rather than the weeks it typically takes for installation and activation of traditional phone service, said Cash. It can also create a bridge between phone numbers in cases where relocation requires a new number or the transfer of an existing number.
