15 New Tech Offerings for Partners: IBM AI, 8x8, SASE Providers

IBM revealed two components of its AI data platforms.
The IT giant launched watsonX.ai and watsonX.data. The former helps train generative AI and machine learning models. The latter functions as a data store for AI and ML data and workloads.
The company also noted that watsonx.governance will go live in two month.

Vonage is helping businesses get alerted to fraud risks faster.
The newly launched Vonage Protection Suite features Number Insight API, a real-time fraud assement solution, and Verify API, a two-factor authentication solution.
That suite will help businesses enhance their UCaaS, CaaS and conversational commerce platforms from Vonage, as well as Vonage’s recently announced AI Acceleration Suite.

Expanding cloud logging capabilities are now available to certain Microsoft Azure customers.
Following a cyberattack that targeted federal email accounts, the hyperscaler worked with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Administration (CISA) to bring the features to market cost-free.
Well, more specifically, Microsoft previously charged users to access certain security logs that companies would need to track certain cyber threats. The CISA has goten them to offer it for free for certain customers.

On the AI front, Microsoft unveiled Bing Chat for Enterprise, which will embed natural language searches inside various 365 applications.
The company made generative AI capabilities available on Bing back in February, but this version features commercial data protection. Moreover, the deal stands to eventually became its own offering for a $5 subscription down the road.
In other news, Microsoft and IBM services spinoff Kyndryl launched an “AI readiness program.” That program will exist within the existing Kyndryl Consult practice and tap into Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft Fabric.

TD Synnex partners can now sell Zoom.
The two parties signed a distribution agreement. The partnership expands Zoom’s channel (and therefore sales) footprint while giving TD Synnex partners new UCaaS and CCaaS offerings.

8×8 expanded its cloud public switched telephone network (PSTN) support further across the globe.
Establishing a footprint in South Korea brought the cloud communication provider’s PSTN footprint to 59 companies.
In addition, the company launched a new contact center interface that brings together analytics, performance management and team admin capabilities.

Dell Technologies rolled out new generative AI offerings with the help of Nvidia.
The companies described Dell Validated Design for Generative AI with Nvidia as an “inferencing blueprint.” The offerings include Precision workstations that developers use for fine-tuning GenAI models.
In other news, Dell added new professional IT services geared in part toward supporting Microsoft Azure solutions. Dell is tapping into its base of 47,000 Microsoft certified employees to help partners expand into new areas or complement existing ones.

Splunk enhanced its unified security and observability platform.
One of those updates is Splunk Attack Analyzer, which security teams will use to evaluate malware and credential phishing attacks in a more automated fashion. Splunk also unveiled Open Telemetry Collector and the ability for users to access its Splunk Cloud Platform and Splunk Observability Cloud with a single user identity.

Fortinet added underlay and overlay services to its software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) platform.
On one hand, the new Underlay Performance Monitoring Service for SD-WAN can create SLAs for how internet service provider links should perform. It also lets businesses measure how different applications are performing. On the other hand, the Overlay-as-a-Service update lets businesses deploy locations without self-hosting.
Fortinet’s vice president of channel sales spoke about the offering in an interview with Edward Gately.
Arrow Electronics rolled out a managed services portfolio, said to fill in gaps for channel partners.
The portfolio features managed services for cloud orchestration, networking and security, cloud backup and storage. Executives said the offer will benefit partners who want to increase their recurring revenue but worry about associated overhead.

Windstream Enterprise added managed IT services to its portfolio.
A partnership with managed IT and network services provider ATSG. That entails digital the management of digital workspace, digital infrastrucure and cybersecurity, while using TSG’s platform.

Fusion Connect launched a tool geared toward “seamless” contact center as a service (CCaaS) integrations.
Executives said the CCaaS Professional helps midmarket and enterprise businesses add features at a “reasonable cost.” Notably, the tool integrates Microsoft Teams Calling Services into CCaaS platforms.

Illinois-based managed network services provider and carrier aggregator Nitel gave its secure access service edge (SASE) platform an international flavor.
Leaning on more points of presence from VMware and signing agreements with dozens of carriers across the world will allow Nitel support customers with offices in other countries.
The shift comes at a time when many U.S.-based network-as-a-service providers are seeing demand but are seeking to differentiate themselves.

In a similar move, BCN rolled out a SASE offering that Cato Networks is powering.
Partners of New York-based BCN can now sell four different SD-WAN/SASE offerings. This particular offering contains integrated secure service edge (SSE) and software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) capabilities contained on the same cloud-based platform.
For Cato, the agreement represents another partnership with a telco that uses Cato as its network overlay.

This roundup includes managed SASE providers that added to their portfolio with either a partnership or an acquisition. And Fortinet bulked up its SD-WAN (software-defined wide area networking) offering with new underlay and overlay features.
