Talkin’ Cloud at the end of each day pulls out five must-read cloud computing stories from the news cycle for its readers to review in the morning. Today’s column features SimpliVity, AVG Technologies (AVG) and Eagle Eye Networks.

SimpliVity Supports Cisco UCS Director. Hyperconverged infrastructure vendor SimpliVity announced during Cisco Live! that it will support Cisco UCS Director to help optimize customer private and hybrid cloud environments. The hyperconverged solution is expected to be available next quarter and will support Cisco UCS Director to automate infrastructure management and orchestrate the provisioning of VMs with data protection and mobility, according to the announcement.

AVG Partners With ZTE For Mobile Security. ZTE smartphones and tablets now will come pre-installed with AVG Technologies mobile security. AVG has announced that its AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android application will come pre-installed across ZTE devices.

Eagle Eye’s Dean Drako Grabs Brivo In $50 Million Deal. Dean Drako, the president and CEO of Eagle Eye Networks, has acquired cloud-based access control system vendor Brivo for $50 million in an effort to expand his grasp on the physical security market. Drako will assume the role of chairman of Brivo, with current company president and CEO Steve Van Till continuing in his current role.

Sophos Adds Email Security With Reflexion Networks Acquisition. IT security vendor Sophos will add email security to its Sophos Cloud offering with the acquisition of Reflexion Networks, a provider of email security, archiving, encryption and business continuity services. The acquisition is expected to allow Sophos to add enterprise-grade email security into the Sophos Cloud management console, effectively creating a simpler way for enterprises to monitor their corporate communications, according to the announcement.
