Dell Technologies has added its new Dell Apex Managed Device Service to its refreshed commercial PCs and workstation lineup. The PC giant launched the services with its new Latitude laptops and several new OptiPlex models and Precision workstations.
The PCs include an upgraded version of Dell’s Optimizer tool, which now comprises Dell Display Manager and Dell Peripheral Manager.
Besides the typical improved performance and form factor, Dell officials emphasized environmental enhancements to its new lineup. For example, Dell built the new high-end Dell Latitude 9440 with low-carbon emission aluminum. According to the company, it consists of 75% recycled aluminum and 25% hydropower.

Focus on SMB Customers
Jayal Lakhani, VP of product management in Dell’s Modern Computing Solutions Group (MCSG), outlined the Dell Apex Managed Device Service. Lakhani said Dell created the offering for SMB customers with minimal or no IT personnel.
“Highly skilled Dell technology experts will manage, monitor, help secure and keep your devices up to date,” he said. “We will handle all elements of hardware life cycle management, from the device imaging and software deployment to supporting customers with device encryption and security.”
Lakhani explained in a blog how Dell decided to develop the service. The Dell Apex Managed Device Service is a monthly subscription that costs $70 per device.
